What's that behind the Provost in the hangar? A Cessna Airmaster?

Denys Jones has sent me this information this evening:
"One group of those I think I can identify is the ones showing the Oxford centre section with engines attached and pointing skyward due to the trailing spar resting on the ground.
I believe that a/c was on the property of J D Marr of Rakaia, whose son was at the same school a couple of years behind me, as a group of us from AHSNZ visited there in the 1970s. Dave Duxbury may wish to comment/confirm.
As I recall it was one of a batch of 6 or so bought by a local consortium of farmers but by then was the last vestige remaining although I know what its eventual fate was."

That's a Dove tail cone (upside down), assuming that's the wing of the same aircraft up against it, the wing looks fire damaged?

I would assume NZ1815.

What Don achieved with that Oxford restoration (or should I say "reassembly"!) is just amazing.

Oxford NZ1259 The reverse of the above Oxford photo I can ID that writing as that of Tom Craill, though he wouldn't have taken the photo so not a credit, but might be of help identifying other photos perhaps. Thanks for scanning and posting photos, really great.

The first Vampire formation photo is just approaching Waikanae. The second (which is actually first in the sequence) is almost exactly over PP aerodrome.
By the look of development or lack of it, I'd say they date from the late 50s or very early 60s

Would you happen to have any photos showing the cockpit floor either before or during repair? I would be most interested in any showing the relative size and position of the cutouts for the controls. Amazing project, incredible workmanship! Many thanks Yeti

The photo of Fletcher BYC was taken at Kaipara Flats. Would have been before I stated there in 1969.

It's been ages, what with the the Photobucket debacle and other stuff that has meant a big gap, but here are more pohotos from the collection. I believe this is Stan Smith's Auster A line up of Avengers, Fireflies and Seafires, I am guessing at either Ardmore or Whenuapai when they visited here in 1946 The Pan American Airways Clipper that was the first international flying boat to arrive in NZ A commonly seen RNZAF photo of an Ardmore-based Corsair A Devon fuselage marked UFO A fantastic photo of the flightline at Hobsonville (according to the back of the photo) during a Territorial Camp. Left is Avro 626 NZ204, and in the line up are five Vickers Vildebeests, another Avro 626, all four Hawker Tomtits and a solitary Gloster Grebe.
