Walsh Memorial Flying School 50th Anniversary Airshow

Today a fantastic airshow was put on involving many of the NZ Warbirds aeroplanes and others at Waharoa Aerodrome, near Matamata, to mark the 50th Walsh Memorial Flying School. What a great day. Not many people were there as it was a low key, private event. I was very fortunate to attend after being invited by about five people. It was great to meet up with many forum members and friends there taking part in the event.

Good to see the coverage on 7 Sharp last night. My second daughter Robyn attended the School twice in the late 80s. Rang me the day she went solo. Very excited. Completed about half the required hours for PPL, but because of cost never completed it. She was a Brownie, Guide and Ranger. Had a trip to NASSA with a Guide/Ranger group. My wife Mary ran the local Guide and Ranger group in Warkworth for many years.

What a great variety Dave , thanks for the pictures , pity it wasnt widely known.
I am in the same boat Peter , in the ATC at Grammar School the subsidised cost was 21 pounds , it then went to 120 pounds and then dropped out of my income bracket
