help with war file

Hello,

I have been researching my great-grandfather and need some help on his war records.

I know he was in the Otago Mounted Rifles, then went to Pioneer Battalion and then onto NZ Field Artillery. But what do the numbers mean around brigade and battery?

Was there a 4th battery in 3rd brigade?? What does this mean?

Thanks for the link. Makes sense now.

The 4th battery become part of the 3rd Battalion and remained using howitzer's is what I read from that. Hopefully that is correct??

I have searched online for any photo's relating to this unit but appears to be very few. Can anyone point my in the right direction where there might be some?
