To quote Monty Python..... "You lucky, lucky bast*rd !". Well deserved mate. Don't know if I shall ever get my butt into that back seat. To big and thinking too heavy. C of G would be about ten feet behind the rudder however it does get into a Mustang!

Seeing the photos of your head almost against the canopy has finally made me realise there's no way I can fit in that cockpit!!! I'd have to leave the canopy open.

I note that Doug Brooker gave his last public display in his Spitfire at the Wings over Wairarapa show and is putting it up for sale...( link)... "The final farewell from the New Zealand airshow display circuit belonged to veteran Spitfire pilot and owner of the two-seat Spitfire TR.IX MH367 ZK-WDQ Doug Brooker, who recently announced his retirement from flying it. “I’m getting too old for this,” said Doug after his display. “I’ll put the aircraft up for sale and someone else can get some joy out of it.”

I'm sorry to see that but, on reflection, Doug's been flying her for about 15yr! Thanks for the memories and may she find a deserving home.
