Next time it taxis, whether it be before or during the airshow someone should take some video of it and put it online.

No hughw, I didn't take my camera as I wasn't expecting any aircraft activity at the party however, Kiwi285 has today loaded on the main Classic Flyers thread some nice still shots of the occasion. I would like to think there will be some footage of it taxiing at the air show on 21 January.

Yesterday at the Classics of the Sky Tauranga airshow the Classic Flyers Macchi taxied past the crowd and down the runway for a faster than jogging taxi. The aircraft had nets over its intakes to prevent FOD ingestion. Hopefully it will fly later this year. The Classic Flyers people are awesome for achieving this feat.

Yes Zac, didn't you listen to the recent WONZ Show with Andrew Gormlie as guest?

Well done Hugh on posting the Macchi activity on Saturday at Tauranga Airport. It put on what was regarded as an impressive display and represented a welcome return to air show activity.

Some news in from Classic Flyers regarding ANZAC Day 2017:
To mark ANZAC Day this year we are performing several Classic aircraft engine runs on our apron area. We hope to run up the Grumman Avenger, P40 Kittyhawk and for those who like the whine of a jet engine the ex-RNZAF Macchi MB339 jet trainer all around the middle of the day.
Classic Flyers will perform the Harvard Fly-over of the Tauranga Cenotaph at the Dawn Parade and then again at the 10.00am Civic Parade - weather permitting. So there will be plenty of aircraft activity at the museum on Tuesday... It's a Gold Coin Entry to museum on Anzac Day for all visitors.

Has Classic Flyers reached the realization that in order to fly the Macchi they will have to invest in FOD control or buy a lower model Viper turbojet? I did see something which looked like a FOD scoop on the back of a ute last time I was there, so maybe they already have something. www.aerosweep.com/

Great to see the Macchi taxi and hopefully fly. Nice looking aircraft. Would be great if a 326 would fly over here. Formation of the two even better.

I'm not sure what you are waiting for but I don't think you will be seeing much change from a taxiable Macchi for a long time... if ever.

Thats what I'm thinking. But one can dream. Andrew Gormlie may have been slightly too optimistic when he said they would head towards flying it.
