Hi. I'm new to this forum and based in the UK. As part of my collection of military bits and bob's I have a DPM tropical shirt dateing from the 70's or 80's the label is very washed out but I can see it's size 8 and made in Darby. In the left sleeve are some Para wings and on the right is a TRF I can't identify, a square diagonally devided black or dark navy over red.
I know that the New Zealand military used a fair amount of kit that was very similar to if not identical to that used by UK force's, so wondered if instead of a British TRF it was a New Zealand tac/formation sign?
Regards
Shaun

Again thank you, in the photos the top triangle of the patch is black in the photo but looks dark navy blue to the eye but could have faded over time

I'm fairly certain the shirt is UK manufacture (the material and pen pocket). A unit patch doesn't ring a bell however a number of unit patches have been adopted in recent years so it could be NZ.

I got this from a very reliable source:
"Drop Zone Flash for the British Para Logs or Parachute Logistics Regiment of the Airborne Brigade. Made in felt so pre 80's (when units tended to switch to the woven nylon pattern). Not sure why he's wearing it with the black at the top as I note on Wiki it's shown with red at top. They did keep changing patterns as units were added dropped or Titles changed."
So looks Pommy and not Kiwi....

And apparently the tactical recognition flash is worn on the right arm under the Para wings.
