I think that's the first YL-15 model of any kind I've ever seen, what a neat piece of work! The Bird Dog is very cool too.

Hi, can someone tell me if Devon1812 is still onsite and accessible. I am coming down in the next week or so and would like to take a look if possible. Thanks

As mentioned on the other thread we are cleaning out Hangar 3 and will be moving the Avenger to the other side. Most of the 'stuff' have been moved out and there is a great open space there that we will occupy soon. New heavy duty benches are being built and they are looking at power and lighting on that side. This will be a great space for us to work in and everybody is looking forward to the shift. Still looking for a 4 foot guillotine and folder to use as we are constantly having to go next door. 200618 (4) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr

Just a random question here and it may or may not be related to Classic Flyers, but a couple of us are wondering is the Messerschmitt Bf108 Taifun still based at Tauranga? And has it flown recently? We've not seen it at any airshows for a while. Are there mechanical issues with it? or other problems? I love that aircraft and Colin Henderson always puts on a terrific display in it.

The aircraft is still in the hangar across the taxiway. Unfortunately the man with the answers is away for a fortnight so I can't ask him the question. In the HARS hangar in Australia they had a Bf108 there that look close to flying again. P1390122 by Mike Feisst, on Flickr P1390126 by Mike Feisst, on Flickr P1390127 by Mike Feisst, on Flickr

Thanks Mike. I believe that Bf108 at HARS was owned by the German pilot Franz Stigler who famously escorted the stricken B-17 back to safety in WWII.

Yes that is right and the Bf108 is painted in the colours of his Bf109 at the time of that incident. There is a display od some bits from a B-17 in the main Café area and I have a couple of photos.

Andrew had a talk to the team at morning tea time (I missed it) and has given us a list of jobs to be undertaken in the next few weeks. He wants all of the gear that is sitting outside hangar 3 moved inside and out of the weather. I knew the spares spaces around the hangar wouldn't last long - oh well. That will keep us busy for a day or so.

We had the use of the truck with the hiab again today and Andrew wanted the boxes and materials outside the hangar moved under shelter so that was todays task. The ex RNZAF Goblin's were removed from the crates and transferred into the hangar. Richard and Alan were busy building a new wing stand for the Vampire wings so that they can be stood up on their leading edge taking up less precious room. In time all of the other gear from Ardmore and Blenheim will need to be removed from outside the hangar and put in under cover. No, thats for my hammock - I hope they have left enough room so that I don't hit my feet or I will be most annoyed.

Calling Peter Layne - did you receive my email from last Wednesday regarding the Classic Flyers Archive. I am not sure if I sent it to your old or new email address?
