Very nice Marcus!! Thanks for posting. Did the DH89, the Tiger Moth and the Airtrainer do flying displays or were they static?

Great photos and glad the weather behaved (unlike here in Christchurch where I'll be going on a dog walk this afternoon!) Did anyone film or take photos of the TBF running? She looks fantastic. Love to know about the "bump" visible on the top cowling. If you look at photos of TBF Avengers some have it and some don't.

It did do several wing folds though (which I missed!)

The Avenger and DH89 both experienced engine problems and therefore did not run.

It's probably been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but what are the silver dots on top of the Strikemaster wings for? Yes , it been discussed berfore . If I recall correctly they are inspection holes to look for cracks . The Strikemaster has a history of wing fatigue ( now that the hours are getting higher ) and so the wings are inspected quite often ( so often that they dont bother doing a nicer looking repair / covering to the inspection holes .

After a rather disastrous start to the day, we decided to travel down to the show rather than just stay home and fume. The good points were seeing two of the Classic Flyers Museum static aircraft out and moving. The P-40 replica looks the part and the Aermacchi MB339CB NZ6469 went for a trundle down the runway. Pity they didn't turn its lights on. The recently-returned-to-airworthy Devon NZ1808/ZK-KTT performed nicely Two of the newer Defence Force machines were included in the displays. Texan II NZ1410 and Seasprite NZ3613 Nice to see the Catalina returning to the airshow circuit while Tiger Moth maestro Dave Phillips is always a delightful watch I have not been able to ID these two machines: L-29 VMA-214 and this slightly unfinished Spitfire repilca Anyone know?

What is this jet in troops' photo? Is that the L-39? It's an R/C Grumman Panther. 1/5th scale I think. Looks very realistic in the air The L 39 didn't fly

Thanks! I didn't think it was the L-39 but could not think of anything else it could be. Never considered a model. Looks great.

The Spitfire replica is Wayne Cutforth. He's been working on that for a good number of years now!

Which Yak was the bottom one seen here? It didn't seem to wear any registration from the photos I have seen. I always get so confused by the Yak 52's.... and who flew it and ZK-KGB? Was the latter Rick Grant?
