Pilot congratulates passengers for drinking all the alcohol on board Southwest Airlines flightLast updated 10:52, December 13 2016 The pilot "congratulated" everyone for downing all of the alcohol on board during three-hour flight.US passengers travelling to a football match managed to drink all the alcohol on board a plane; a "feat" which warranted a congratulations from the pilot. What's even more "impressive"? The Southwest Airlines flight from California to Kansas City was only in the air for three-and-a-half hours. Sports journalist Jimmy Durkin was on the flight on Thursday and tweeted about it: The majority of people were American football fans travelling to support their team Oakland Raiders, who were playing the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite downing all the drinks on board, Durkin said people were well-behaved and "yeah, a decent amount of folks in Raiders gear". "Pretty standard fare for a flight to a city where the Raiders are playing," he told Fox News. The number of air rage incidents have increased in recent years with calls for alcohol to be banned on flights completely. There were 10,854 air rage incidents reported by airlines worldwide last year, with alcohol or drugs being cited as a factor in 23 per cent of the cases. However, in the vast majority of incidents involving drugs or alcohol, the substances were consumed before boarding or imbibed secretly on board.

Journos!! Ugh! Why mention the "air rage" stats when the interviewee said everyone was well-behaved?!
Also, amazing for the whole bar to be drained on such a flight! I wonder if the Raiders won?

I was on a QANTAS flight once that had the bar drunk dry.
It was a flight from Auckland to Sydney being operated by a Boeing 707-338C.
February 1974 if I remember correctly.

Back in '76, when flying to Singapore on an ANZ DC10 (24 air force among total of 75 pax), arrived to be informed that there were two miniatures of gin left, besides the bottle of whiskey given to our aircrew. The drinks were free. Three days later we departed Singapore on a British Airways 747 (24 hours late due to technical issues), with 65 pax, and arrived in Bahrein with very little left, again drinks on the house. On the final leg to Heathrow, the aircraft was full, but when the captain announced that due to the delay, the drinks were on the airline, it was the only time I have ever heard Kiwis say "oh christ, not again!" We arrived at Heathrow, cleared customs, straight into our hotel, arriving at 1.00AM, to be told the boss had the keys to the bar and we were to drop our bags and report for a briefing.
