Some of you will have seen my webpages dedicated to the RNZAF Musuem and its history that I'm building up. I'd like to eventually do the same thing for another great NZ aicraft collection, the one at the Museum of Transport and Technology. I want to establish just which aircraft they currently have and which aircraft have been loaned to or owned and sold from the collection too. So here's my first attempt at a list? Currently in the collection:Avro Lancaster NX665 (not owned by Motat) Auster of some sort Commonwealth Ceres ZK- Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk NZ3039 DH82 Tiger Moth NZ? DH83 Fox Moth ZK- DH89 Dragon Rapide ZK-AGT DH Mosquito NZ??? DH Vampire FB.9 WR202 Douglas Dakota ZK-BQK Grumman Avenger Locheed Hudson NZ2031 Lockheed Lodestar ZK-BVE Lockheed Lexington NZ4600 Lockheed 10a Electra ZK-BUT Lockheed 10a Electra ZK-AFD (fuselage only) Mignet Flying Flea ZM-AAA Miles Gemini Miles Magister NA Harvard NZ944 Pearse Monoplane Ryan STM ZK-STM (flying) Short Solent ZK-AMO Short Sunderland NZ4115 Replicas in the CollectionHawker Hurricane Fairey Swordfish Tui Sports Formerly With the collection - owned or loanedCurtiss P-40E NZ3009 - now Old Stick and Rudder Co. FG-1D Corsair NZ - Now Old Stick and Rudder Co. FG-1D Corsair NZ Vildebeest III NZ1?? - to RNZAF Museum Hawker Hind NZ? - to Subritzky collection? DH84 Dragon - to Catalina - to RNZAF Museum Auster Antarctic - to RNZAF Museum P-39 Aircobra - now with TFC P-47 Thunderbolt - with Rob Greinert Bristol Beaufort? - was this with Motat? I know I have missed a lot of the collection, what have I missed (including replicas, civvie stuff, gliders, etc)? Also any photos and stories would be most welcome for this project. It will be laid out much like the RNZAF Musuem pages on my site. Cheers.

Thanks Paul, so it is an Airtruck? They were made by Panavia was it?
And yes, Gere Sport does ring a bell, is that right?

The little red biplane is a Gere sport, and the airtruck is Made by Transavia. I do have the name of the other homebuilt somewhere, i'll find it tonight. There is also that odd man- powered machine visible as well - the one with the clear mylar covering. I dont think that Fox mothe is really AEK - I think it is a replica?

The Airtruck pictured was made by Transavia - Panavia (BAe,MBB, Aertalia consortium) made the Tornado combat aircraft (it would be interesting seeing a Tornado topdressing the back paddock!)

Do they have an Fletcher in the collection,a long time ago when I was last there they had a disassembled FU-24 300hp,which I assumed from the colour scheme was Barr Bros ZK-BIB?,it had no reg painted on it or visible serial, but seems to have disappeared in the mists of time.

Some of you might remember or maybe were involved with the two prototype Airtruck's that were built in NZ using Harvard components. I got a shot of the second prototype the Pellarini PL-11 Airtruck on A.net. www.airliners.net/open.file/0277578/L/If you look down to the left corner of this photo I took at Motat you will see a model of the Harvard engined prototype. www.airliners.net/open.file/0762816/L/Colin

A few notes: Tiger "ZK-ANN" is actually AIN: "Dismantled & stored Ardmore Oct58. To MoTAT, rebuilt with parts of 'BJH for display as ZK-ANN" MoTAT have acquired several Tigers over the years, and the parentage of the one marked NZ775 is said to be ZK-BAD but that could be uncertain, BJH and BME have also been involved The Fox AEK is a Myles Robertson new-builld fuselage that Stan Smith swapped to get APT from MoTAT - should really be in you replicas list Rapide AGT of course legally became AHS The Mosquito should be T.Mk43 NZ2305 Gemini is Arthur Baker's ZK-ANT The Magister is a M.14A Hawk Trainer III ZK-AYW rebuilt with parts of ZK-ALO and displayed as L8353

Thanks everyone. There's actualy a lot more aircraft there in the collection than I realised, and some great history to most of them. This will be a fun project putting it all together.
Is it ok to use your photos Craig please?

Did Motat own the Anson/s that are now with the Subritzky collection? Was there some connection there?
