Dave - Went out of range because they were 178 miles out off the coast which was where the rendezvous zone was. They caught the booster as planned but because of the way the chute behaved it became very unstable for some reason so that, coupled with the fact there was a large cloud layer below them the decision was made to release the booster and let it splash down like it normally would.

That was so cool, I always get a thrill watching a rocket launch from NZ soil...and knowing that we're part of Artemis makes it all the more exciting!
