The Fieldays starts tomorrow, and as with every year the bad weather has arrived on time in the Waikato. Even though it'd held just down the road right outside Cambridge, I am a townie and not a cockie, so I have not attended this event for well over 20 years as there is nothing there that really interests me.
However I was just wondering, do agricultural aviation companies feature at this event? Do they have displays and stands and the likes? Do they do some aerial demos of spraying or topdressing for farmers?
Just wondering if it might be worth going along and seeing if there are any potential stories for the WONZ Show.

I went past Rukuhuia today. PAC had 4 new 750XLs lined up outside. Maybe something?
Back in the day there was a PL12 demonstration or two, and one year I remember seeing a microlight on a display stand kitted out for spray work.

Wasn't it at a forerunner of the Fieldays as we now know them (1969) that PL12 CWZ had an engine failure and cleaned up a truck?

These days, there is usually a couple of tents associated with drones and high tech farming. Probably the most aviation item to attract attention. It would interest me if I went. Mind you, I am a farmer's son and aerial topdressing was always a favorite activity. Drones are now on gps circuits to check troughs and sheep for becoming cast, stock through fences etc.

Two Ag aviation companies should be represented. Balance and Ravensdown.
