I was on the crew that built these planes in the late 70's in Willow Run, Michigan near Detroit. they were built for the movie High road to Chinia. I believe we built 7 flying planes and two non flying crash planes for the movies. We used the original plans but had to adjust for FAA rules. I worked on the body and wings. I made many of the jigs for the wings as well as tools for the body. There was a small English crew who over saw what we were doing and to help us in this project. The engine and metal cage for the pilot and passenger were fabricated at another facility nearby. I believe we flew the first one on the forth of July in 1979.
