There will be a Book Launch event at NZ Warbirds Visitor Centre, Ardmore Airport on Saturday 16th September starting at 14.00 hrs (that's 2pm for non-aviation types..) Arthur Gatland will present Frank's war story, with plenty of photos and anecdotes - and an "after the war" segment - and welcome questions / discussion throughout. Additionally there will be time to digress into Arthur's experiences flying Harriers, Hunters and Hawks etc if there is sufficient interest! All welcome! FREE event with a cash bar after the event.

I am looking forward to this occasion. I've read the story twice now (once in proof reading and once in the printed book). I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with an interest in New Zealand aviation history. Frank Gatland (Arthur's father) was well respected for his airmanship both in wartime (and his determination to escape as a PoW) and in peacetime (particularly in gliding).
