Watched some of the videos of flights into the eye of Irma - Damn! I gotta ask: What do you replace an Orion with? Another Orion! Mr Lockheed, please start up the line again, there's a real gap that needs to be filled

Those hurricanes are getting bigger too. I guess they'll be able to rebuild the airport for the next mega-hurricane to destroy. Global warming, eh?

johnyfalcon, when our Orions (if)end their days with the RNZAF, and are replaced with something, the hurricane chasers will be down on them, and they'll fly another 50 years. isc ps, you'll know when they are to be sold, they'll get an update and overhaul, the works about a year before they go.

The Orions will definitely not last another 50 years, there is a distinct lack of parts to keep them flying, which is why we are about to replace them with P-8's.

On the NT ABC news tonight they said the latest one is bigger than the island of Tasmania and the other behind this one is also just as big as well! The other half said WTF and I said don't speak too soon as we still our wet season to come yet.

CLICK ON THE MAP TO READ THE LATEST INFO.And there's another HUGE hurricane tagging along right behind it. I wonder how the flat-earthers/anti-warmalists/climate-change-deniers explain away multiple 500-year storms in such a small period of time?

The thought has crossed my mind over the past 24 hours.
I've got a Washington Post subscription, so as well as receiving the e-versions of the print edition (ads & all), I've been getting regular email updates.
That is one extremely destructive and scary storm.
