Ron was also commissioned by the RNZAF when I was Air Force PRO to do some paintings. One of a C130 at sunrise and the other an Andover carrying out an airdrop both were presented to the Chief of Air Force in the late 1990s

Would they have stayed with the Air Force and pass on to subsequent Chiefs of Air Force? Or were they a personal presentation that he got to take with him when he left?

Hi Helenar . .
Having just joined this website today and being unfamiliar with the way I am meant to post . . my apologies if I am writing amiss . .
Having just read of Ron Fulstow - I simply wanted to write a couple of lines . . . Ron and I worked together in Christchurch NZ for an Advertising Agency called Bowden Communications . . .
During that time he showed me two or three of his Aircraft paintings - truly amazing - he helped me a lot , and i am saddened to read of his passing in 2015. Ron and I last chatted in 2012.
I would be happy to respond if anyone would like to make contact. I currently am helping the Tairawhiti Aviation Museum here in Gisborne NZ to venture onto the web. Regards Ray Sheldrake

Greetings I only just came across your posts on the forum about Ron Fulstow.
I introduced him to his UK agent Nick Stein and I have a number of original paintings from him. If you would like to contact me on larry.hill.nz@gmail.com I can send you pics of my paintings and tell you more about Ron - I knew him very well

As the air force public relations officer in the 1990s I did a lot of work with Ron Fulstow who was residing in Paraparaumu at the time. I had him commissioned to do an annual oil painting of one of the air force aircraft. He did a magnificent painting of a Hercules at sunrise and an Andover during a supply drop mission. Unfortunately funding was reduced and we could no longer contract him. However he did a magnificent cover painting of a Solent getting up on the step at Evans Bay for our book "The Golden Age of New Zealand Flying Boats". In later years he gifted me several of his conte sketches of various wartime aircraft. The include Messerschmitt 109 G-4 over the channel, Spitfire Mk Vb of 485 Squadron, Corsair F4U-1D of 31 Su/15 Squadron, Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero Bougainville which were all done in 1995

I'd love to see the Hercules and Andover paintings. Where do they reside now?

Dave, the last I saw of them they were in Air Staff, the C130 in the CAF office the Andover in one of the meeting rooms, but that was in 2000 so haven't a clue where they would be now with all the shifts that Air Staff and Defence have undergone since I left in October 2000

Hello, my father left me a number of boxes of NZ plane memorabilia when he passed away. A number were drawings. One is an original pencil drawing by Ron Fulstow. It’s titled ‘de Havilland DH90 Dragonfly ZK-AFB’ 1994. I would hazard a guess that my father knew him as Dad was involved and part of NZ aeronautical history. His name was Jim Pavitt. I myself am not much of a plane person and unsure what to do with it. Any suggestions? Thank you. Roger

Errol I don't think you can have read my PM (?), which reads: Hello Roger, Jim was a long standing member of the Aviation Historical Society of New Zealand. If you would like to have his memorabilia donated in whole or in part to the Society please contact Secretary Ron Ark at ron.ark@xtra.co.nz or phone him on 027 728 0839.
