One of the required RNZAF vehicles for my Pacific diorama is the International Harvester tractor unit pulling a 2000 gal fuel semi-trailer as shown in this photo. While the IH is similar to much more common GMC there are lots of detail differences. The IH were much more common in use by USN and USMC in the Pacific. The build is based on Tamiya GMC cargo truck with open cab. To change it from a GMC to an IH will require: - shortened wheelbase - redesigned cab with new doors - new fuel tanks and spare wheel mounts behind the cab - new bonnet and modified grill - new mudguards - new canvas canopy - new front bumper. - new 5th wheel and deck plate The semi-tanker uses the tank parts from three Tamiya aircraft refuellers and one set of dual wheels. All the rest will be scratchbuilt.

The tank semi-trailer is finally taking shape. The drivers side with the recess to mount a spare wheel The off side which will have a small recess in the rear corner for a fire extinguisher. Both sides use panels from the original GMC truck tank which feature twin side bin doors.
