Does anyone have any more details on this purchase just announced? www.shephardmedia.com/news/mil-log/nz-orders-man-wreckers/Picked up by someone on another forum they wonder if it's the Bison heavy recovery vehicle trialed here a couple of years back. I see however there appear to be other MAN Recovery models!?!

Similar chassis but not the same configuration as the Bison did not have a crane.

No not on SX chassis. I understand for commonality they will be on the same HX chassis as rest of fleet

I saw something similar in the street in Palmerston North today? 8-legger with lifting gear but not a crane If it was an army vehicle either a bridge layer or DROPS (demountable rack offload and pickup system). There is also at least one eight wheel MAN civilian specialist truck around.
