Have just seen the very, very preliminary display aircraft list for Wings at Albion Park and it is impressive. Lots to keep warbird and military "spotters" very happy. Now to start getting my airshow'book' together !!!

Wing Over Illawarra 2019 Air Show organisers have started putting up details of some of the aircraft that they have confirmed for the event on their FB page. So far they have confirmed Matt Hall doing aerobatics, RAAF C-17 for both days, the Temora Spitfire XVI, and the RAAF Roulettes will be there with a four ship display utilising the new PC-21. No doubt closer it gets to the event dates there will be more announcements about participating aircraft and pilots plus other attractions at the event. The Roulettes four ship on the PC-21 will be interesting to see.

Wings Over Illawarra 2019 Air Show organisers have now listed up the full planned line up of aircraft.
Saturday and Sunday Flying Programs will feature the following aircraft displays
RAAF Roulettes - 4 Ship PC-21 Hawk 127 Lead-in fighter C-17 Globemaster III C-130J Hercules C-27J Spartan P-8A Poseidon MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Focke Wulf Fw-190 CAC CA-18 Mk21 Mustang VH-AUB CAC CA-18 Mk21 Mustang VH-MFT Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIV Hawker Hurricane Mk XII / IIB Curtis P-40E Kitthawk Matt Hall in his Extra 300 Paul Bennet in the Wolf Pitts Pro Beech-18 Boeing Stearman North American T-6 Harvard CAC CA-3 Wirraway North American T-28 Trojan Russian Roolettes Formation Team BAC Jet Provost T5A Steadfast Yakovlev Yak 3U Grumman TBM-3 Avenger Learjet 35 Formation Display Sky Aces Formation Aerobatics Display Team 2 x Marchetti S211 formation display L-39C Albatros CAC CA-27 Mk32 Sabre de Havilland DHC-4 Caribou Douglas C-47
Very interesting mix of types, and I can spot the obvious typo error with Temora Aviation Museum's announced attendance of their Spitfire XVI being listed as a XIV. Oh, well we can hope one day Australia might get a SpitfireXIV in its warbird scene.

Speaking with Mark Bright up here at Cessnock for the Hunter Valley Airshow. Will be a great show at Wings as will this weekend. Not every day a local regional airshow gets Hawk 127, FA-18, P.8 Poseidon, and the Roulettes in their shiny new PC.21. This plus T.28, Wirraway, P.40, Spit, Hurricane, P.51 and others and you have a great show.

The Temora Hudson has been a participant at WOI a number of times, so by the look of the lineup they would be hard pressed to give it a reasonable amount of air time to make the trip worthwhile. I suspect too that before the event there might be an additional aircraft type, or two, added to the list above.

Hopefully the 190 will fly this time and not fall over like it did last year. Surprisingly no Hornets, which is a shame, hopefully that is an omission as the Hawk just doesn't do it for me

To keep the younger attendees entertained in previous years they have had a remote control R2D2 plus some members of the local 501st Legion Star Wars Cosplay people in attendance. Being the Saturday of the show is on May the 4th, I expect they will likely be invited again. Yes Dave, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May, lot of the participating aircraft arrive on the Friday 3rd May and depart usually by lunchtime on the Monday. A few of those bringing aircraft from elsewhere that are licenced to operate adventure flights are making arrangements to offer flights on the Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday before and after conclusion of the day's official air show flying program and on the Monday morning.
A bit different to previous years, WOI has usually coincided with the NSW Illawarra Plastic Modellers Association annual show at Illawarra Stadium. However, given the demands on local accommodation and support infrastructure for the two events, from this year onwards the model show has been moved back a fortnight, this year to be held on 18-19 May 2019. A lot of the modellers used to spend one day at the model show and one day at the air show.
Also HARS RAN FAA have also put out their latest update, still waiting on all the paperwork and approvals to get Tracker 844 back in the air and relocated to HARS Albion Park before WOI 2019. Seems they are eager to have it there for the event. Fingers crossed they do.

The main reason is that many of the club members wanted to attend the airshow. The club is planning to have a small display there weather depending. Really hope to see the tracker get to Albion park. It's still out in the weather here and winter is coming....

Dave, FW190 Downunder page on FB, which is the FB page for the operators of the FW190. WOI 2019 has not yet updated their FB page to advise that the FW-190 will not be participating. Will wait to see what the 'punter' reaction will be to that news. WOI 2019 organisors have been getting a bit of negative chat on their FB page about the lack of RAAF F/A-18s at this year's show but have explained as always RAAF attendance is subject to operational requirements and this year the show dates clash with timing for a FCI Course up in the top end, so that's where the F/A-18s will be. Omaka got lucky. They get a FW-190 AND RAAF F/A-18s.

Thanks Col. When I first opened this thread last night I was half asleep and thought Zac was talking about the Omaka Flug Werke rather than the Aussie one. Phew!

Not a surprise, the Flug Werke 190's are notorious for serviceability issues.
