Answered a question, I'm pretty sure, I have DVDs and some VHS tapes of all the Warbirds over Wanaka shows. From memory the 2000 or maybe 2002 event there is a great clip with Mark Hanna chatting with Geoff Fisken.
They are standing in front of NZ 3009 and you can see the artwork with "Wairarapa Wildcat II." This confused me a little as I thought, this has been confirmed above, there was only one "Wildcat" and she was a P40M?
I have plans on doing an RC model of a P40 in the markings of NZ 3009 when she was first restored. Am I correct in saying NZ 3009 was painted with the "Wairarapa Wildcat II" markings as a tribute to NZ 3072 and Geoff Fisken?
Thank you...........

The markings you describe Peter were only done for the airshow scene. The nose art is not a genuine wartime marking. There was only one Wairarapa Wild Cat.
