It was originally mooted as being Static. I am not aware of any change. Maybe we will get an update after Classic fighters! A good set of wings might influence the outcome I guess.

And a decent Centre section. The Hudson is a bit tricky when it comes to stitching a new one of those in.....

Not long after they got the Hudson Bill and Toby paid me a visit at Ferrymead to talk Hudson things and I showed them the documents we had from Lockheed regarding our corresponding centre section work on 2035.
The essence is that Lockheed said that re-attaching cut-off centre sections would not yield a flyable a/c only a full replacement would yield that. Bill made a comment to me that after his experiences with costs on the Anson he didn't envisage going down another expense path of that magnitude.
At that time a rumour was flying about that Bill had bought a Howard Lodestar conversion to get a centre section from it but Bill said that he had not done so.

Did any resolution of this matter come up at Omaka?

I was talking to Bill at Omaka and he was still in 2 minds in what to do with her. The numbers he mentioned to rebuild her to fly were eye watering, I got the feeling that wont happen. To rebuild her would also mean loosing all the original paint and history associated with her etc. The other idea was to preserve her and have her as a static display at the museum.

It was definitely Bill's Hudson wings heading to Omaka. Where from though I don't know, seems a long route if they came from Nelson area.

A film company wanted them in Wanaka (?), and they were happy to 'return' them to Omaka.
