While travelling around the South Island very recently, I came across Twizel/Lake Pukaki airfield. Surprised to see a Grumman AG Cat doing flight seeing trips but the Dak nose caught my eye. Does anyone know much about it?

Could this be the remains of NZ3503 which spent most of its life in Christchurch (@ Burwood), then at RNZAF Museum, then to various private owners around the town? It was one of the "Anything, anywhere, anytime" aircraft. David D

Is that the same ZK- CAT that sat behind Krippner's Garage, Ngahinapouri for years?

My thought is it is ZK-AWO, which Chris Rudge owns. I also think the nose of NZ3503 is at Wigram and stemming from that I also think the Waikawa C-47 "shed" is another portion of NZ3503. Comments anyone? They would be welcome.

I am fairly certain that the nose of C-47 NZ3503 was disposed of by the Museum at least 10 years ago, probably longer.

Chris's nose seen at the top of this thread is from NZ3548.
