Steadfast has been sold. From the latest FB posts by Fighter Pilot Adventure Flights and JEM Aviation, it is currently being disassembled, placed in a shipping container then making its way to Omaka NZ where it will be ressembled for its new owners who plan to base it there. The Yak collection in NZ is growing and Jay "The YAK Whisperer" of JEM, has a whole herd to look after now.

Hopefully Jay can get both sides of the smoke system working consistently for two consecutive days. Steadfast roll by Errol Cavit, on Flickr

Well that's the best news I could have expected, when I made my above post I didn't actually seriously think it would be making its way over here. I guess this would have been in the pipeline for a while behind the scenes.

Brilliant news! It stays in the South and hopefully many Classic Fighters and Wanaka appearances to come.

Team Omaka for 2020? Will two Yak 3's fit in the same container?

I guess this would have been in the pipeline for a while behind the scenes. It has been in the pipeline since the day it went on the open market just a few months back. The Aussie owners were keen to see it come here as well which was a great help, I thought it would end up back in the USA but fortunately not!

Excellent. Yes I was thinking the market for an aircraft like that in NZ/Australia is rather small so I was fully expecting to hear it was going back to the US.

The former owner James Crockett is back at Omaka to test fly Steadfast. Best of luck!

Great to see the latest FB posts from Jay at JEM that Steadfast has her NZ CAA approvals, the test flight program conducted by James Crockett went well, and that Ryan Southam has gotten his endorsement on Steadfast from James Crockett. Busy days! And some great photographs posted up by Gavin of the test flying and Ryans first solo in Steadfast. With two more Yaks in the JEM hangar making progress towards flight, interesting times ahead at Omaka. Omaka 2021 will certainly be "The Year of the Yak".

If you are upset that you missed out on buying Steadfast for yourself, don't be. Czech Ride is now on the market! This is also a Yak 3U with a P&W R2000. Built on a Yak 11, it is currently based in Poland. Barnstormers ad.
