This 1938 film, New Zealand Marches On, is a look at the progress being made around New Zealand at that time thanks to mechanisation and modern techniques. It's really fascinating to see how some of the thins we take for granted today were actually built back on the 1930's. Of special interest are scenes of aerodromes being constructed at Nelson (Tahunanui) and Timaru (Levels). Plus look for some VERY low passes from the camera plane over a viaduct under construction too.

I always enjoy these archive films. Not a hard hat in sight! Also just watched one from 1947 about the construction of Karapiro dam.
