WATCH || Full house. HMNZS Canterbury is taking 46 New Zealand Army vehicles across the Tasman to Exercise Talisman Sabre and Exercise Hamel. The vehicles have to be strategically packed in for weight distribution, like a giant puzzle.

Pure ballet, just need the music. I love the way each LAV sinks down after it's parked. I guess Air Transport suspension height is also Sea Transport height.

And no frigates. Perhaps we will be fighting them in the beaches as Churchill predicted a few years ago

They could have given the Cant a tidy up before visiting, look at that rust.

They could have given the Cant a tidy up before visiting, look at that rust. Its all done by the dockyard now as they use a special paint (a two pot mix) ...

Yep, but isn't it part of the contracting out of maintenance that crews are not allowed to undertake any preventative maintenance, such as chipping and painting etc., onboard anymore? Even the stokers and greenies etc., can't do such in their parts of ship on machinery etc. I know that the RAN has the same contract conditions.

They could have given the Cant a tidy up before visiting, look at that rust. Compared to USS Wasp who’s just been in Sydney, Cant looks immaculate. I guess she has got a good excuse being a considerably older dame a long way from home and she did have some very sexy F35Bs and Ospreys on deck..

Smoke on the water. (and fire in the sky there is a song in that somewhere) HMNZS Canterbury conducting a gunnery exercise with a .50 Cal Machine Gun during her sail to Australia. This type of regular armament training ensures our personnel maintain operational readiness.

Its all happening, NZ armour convoy on the move and Raptors have arrived at RAAF Amberley. Notable in the comments of the CO of the F22 unit is that the ex is aimed at high end warfighting with peer or near peer. mmm wonder who THAT is? Here's hoping we never end up in that world but good we train and show the capability to do it.. twitter.com/TalismanSabre

This type of regular armament training ensures our personnel maintain operational readiness. We need one of those on the foredeck of HDML Kuparu... or a 20ml Oerlikon will do.... I know its been said before but what a bloody disgraceful state Canterbury's hull is in shame on the Dockyard.....
