Another reminder for those of you who use Facebook: the Omaka team has set up a Facebook Group focused on the preservation of Mosquito NZ2336. Photos and videos posted there, such as Gavin Conroy and Al Marshall's weekly video updates (a new one was posted tonight!), can only be seen by members. Aside from the oficial posts a lot of members have also been sharing their own photos taken at Mapua over the years. It's called Omaka John Smith Mosquito Project (link). Again, it's free and I have no involvement other than as an excitable member.

Yes it was very good, as always from Michael Holland when it comes to warbirds.

I wish there were more mainstream journalists like him who took a positive and factually accurate approach to the aviation industry.

In the 7 Sharp opening clip, there is an inverted Devon wing, followed by a shot of wing parts, one of which displays NZ1813.
Isn't NZ1813 at MOTAT?

NZ1813 has not been at MOTAT for a long time. It now resides in the Biggin Hill Hangar at Ohakea.
I guess it had a wing change at some point.

A big day today. The Mosquito will be rolling out of the shed today for the first time in decades.

Just wonderful. I'd been having a pretty poor day at work but when I was on a break, checked my phone and the photos appeared it was like a magic potion for my mood. Amazing stuff!

That image with the tractor would have been reminiscent of the fate of the other Mosquito's(the unsaved), chopped up for firewood.
