Apparently the airfield is fine and people are flying in. I guess going by boat is another option but not by road.
Also 350 kms of road is closed on the West coast.
Meanwhile here in Cambridge the weather is perfect.

Apparently the airfield is fine and people are flying in... Good news, thanks Dave. With the very hot and blustery NW we have here in Christchurch it would be an uncomfortable flight downwind of the ranges

I am not sure how many planes have gotten in though, but I saw a post saying the airfield was OK. And Taylor Moore took some great aerial footage there of the swollen river.

Weather-wise, it looks like it's Cambridge's turn tomorrow, while the Southern East Coast returns to hot and dry
