Hi all, Through the Warbird Information Exchange I was made aware of this documentary, several years ago. It’s legendary among Canadian and American warbird folks.
You may have read Bob Diemert’s name in relation to warbirds around the world - Hurricane, Firefly, P-40, Mustang, and as highlighted in this documentary the then-Confederate Air Force’s A6M2 Zero (now on museum display in Pearl Harbor). Diemert is a tinkerer and inventor, someone constantly at odds with the Canadian establishment. The doco is split between the aforementioned Zero restoration and his homebuilt fighter concept developed in answer to the Canadian purchase of CAF Hornets.
I thoroughly encourage you to watch this doco and share it with other aviation-minded folks.
Please enjoy: The Defender.

That was interesting, can't understand why they got the Hornet over the Defender? Here's the Zero he did.
