I randomly decided to start a 100% scratch built 1:72 Glen project and have progressed well using cardboard and balsa (cardboard for outline and sections then add balsa ribs) I’m now at the cockpit. I was wondering if anyone has photos/info/diagrams of the cockpit instrument panel and frames etc Any info would be appreciated. Also any idea what the markings of l-25s plane would of been?

Ditto, will be watching as well, please correct me if I am wrong, these where the small reconnaissance planes that were launched from a catapult on the deck from the large Japanese I400 Submarines.
From memory they over flew most of the major cities in Australia and over flew Sydney harbour on no less than four occasions before the famous midget sub attack, did they ever over fly any New Zealand cities?

Most of the "Glen" missions were actually flown from somewhat smaller subs than the mighty I-400s (which were only active in the last year or so of the war, they never ventured very far south, stayed in North and Central Pacific), think of the Japanese "Cruiser" subs which were active in 1942 in the South Pacific, mostly ships with very low numbers, as noted immediately above. In fact the I-400s were designed to carry larger and heavier aircraft (monoplane with twin floats and an inverted V-12 engine, think its name was Saiun, built by Yokosuka). David D

The Glen I’m doing is supposed to be I-25s plane which flew over Wellington (my home!) but I am clueless about colour scheme besides “dark green, rising suns symbols and possible stripes on tail fins” Hopefully I can figure out how to post a photo.

David D The Aichi M6A1 Seiran was to be launched from the I 400 to carry out a "dambusters" type attack on one of the lock gates on the Panama Canal, after the attack they were to be ditched next to the submarine.( The floats were fitted for training purposes only). The existing Seiran is in the Smithsonian collecction

What’s bbc code? I just inserted a link to a photo in google drive where the instructions for photo posting said to put a link. The immediate issue is that we don't have permissions to that location to see the photo. The bigger issue is that even if you sort that out, the link no longer works in a day or two, apparently because Google doesn't want you sharing your photos in this way. BBC Code is a simplified sub-set of html that forums like this accept in postings. Some hosting services (e.g. Flickr) provide BBC Code to copy and paste into forum posts.

The photo was not actually showing here on the page, for me anyway, so I have corrected it so it shows up in the thread.

There is an excellent detailed 128 page book "Kugishi E14Y Glen - The Aircraft that bombed America" by Ryusuke Ishiguro and Tadeusz Januszeewski published by MMMP Books White Series 9116 which would greatly assist you with your build of the 1/72nd Glen.It has many photographs and details of colours schemes, cockpit details etc. and some of the I-class submarine voyages with the Glens. Although getting a little pricey now there is a copy available on amazon at www.amazon.com/Kugisho-E14Y-GLEN-Aircraft-America/dp/8389450615/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=Kugishi+E14Y+Glen+-+The+Aircraft+that+bombed+America&qid=1583142082&sr=8-1-fkmr0Nichimo released a 1/72nd E14Y Glen plastic kit which is reasonable. Also MPM also released one of their early plastic kits of the Glen. These along with the Eagles Talon 1/72 vacuform kits are listed on Ebay.com at present. Nichimo also released a 1/200 IJN Submarine I-19 kit which is of the same class as the I-25 and I-21. This is now a bit hard to find but does come up on Ebay from time to time or Hobby Linc Japan. Refer also to the-wanderling.com/mother_ship.html to give details and painting of the I-25 and the Glen taking off from the I-25.
