Ski caps were in vogue then! Didn't last much longer though. David D

I asked the question of a Vampire pilot last week. Suggestion was that Vampires were taken by barge from Auckland wharves, to Hobsonville, and then towed across to Whenuapai for flying to Ohakea. Note the ramp up, becomes the ramp down once the aircraft is higher than the bridge sides.
