Was browsing an historical NZ photos website and came across these aviation images of the past Seaplane over Takapuna Beach Festival 1922 The event was held to raise funds to provide a Cottage Hospital as a memorial to "To those who fell in the Great War, and to those women who bravely and uncomplainingly did their part at home." - The event was set up by the Takapuna Women's Progressive League. I note in that first photo that it is apparently a montage, as not one of the crowd is looking at the aircraft, which in those days would have been a real novelty.
