I have amended your post Joey as it is NZ3125, not NZ3215. Platinum's page has it wrong.
I am also pretty sure the No. 112 Squadron colour scheme depicts the colours worn when they were in Italy in 1944-45, not in the Middle East as they claim.

Not a lot of obvious history of this serial about. Anyone aware of any wartime or postwar photos of it ?

Not a lot of obvious history of this serial about. Anyone aware of any wartime or postwar photos of it ? From what I can find after assembly and test flight at Hobsonville in June 1943, NZ3125 was allocated to No. 15 (Fighter) Squadron at Whenuapai and was there in August 1943 while the squadron was on its home break working up for their next tour. It does not seem to have gone with the squadron to the Pacific however, and while I don't know if it served with any other home based squadrons in between, by June 1944 it was serving with No. 2 (Fighter) Operational Training Unit at Ohakea, coded as FE-X. Sometime in the last week of November or the first week of December 1944 NZ3125 transferred to No. 4 (Fighter) Operational Training Unit, also at Ohakea, serving there as OD-26. The last date I have for it was 7th of May 1945, still with this unit. I assume it will have gone to No. 1 Aircraft Storage Unit at Rukuhia soon afterwards.

For what it’s worth here’s what NZDF Serials has on her:
For many years I’ve had a dream of buying NZ3125 and bringing her back home, into RNZAF markings. Of course I’m not in a position to do so but I do hope she’ll come to NZ.
And if not NZ, then I do hope she goes to a home where she’ll keep flying.

There is that photo of it Rukuhia with the star exposed isn't there ??

It's possible to form a syndicate to own it in NZ. Be great to see it back here in NZ.
