That seemed to go well. Thanks very much to our speakers, Mike, James, Charles and Mel. And a big thanks to all those who supported the event by joining in from across New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

Thanks Dave to yourself, Phil and the guest speakers for a great first virtual Forum Meet. Hope this can become a semi regular event even after current conditions ease. Topped of a great morning surf fishing and watching Harvard NZ1009 doing lazy aerobatics off the coast on a superb Tassie Autumn day.

NZ1009? Or NZ1099? Pretty sure 09 is still owned by the RNZAF. Sounds like the zoom meet went well!

Well that was excellent. Again thank you Dave and Phil for organising, and to our speakers. It was a particular treat to hear from Mike on the status of and current plans for the Smith family collection. I know I’m not alone in having gone into the Meet with a lot of questions, only to have Mike answer them before Q&A time! Very, very exciting and informative.
Charles: thank you for the history lesson on the Blunty and your own experiences with 72. Some of the diagrams were fascinating to see, likewise some of the very neat photos.
James: I’ve often dreamt of going wreckhunting but the idea of going up a steep mountain to find nothing larger than an ammo access panel puts me off! I’m eager to read the article and hear the full story. How nice it would be to have even a replica Buffalo in the Antipodes.
It was also great to put some more names to faces. A great experience and I look forward to more in the future.

That was great folks, found all three subjects very interesting, many years ago I saw those two Strikemasters at an airshow when they where based at Port Macquarie.
Pretty sure I have some pic's and maybe some video which I will try and find.

Thanks Zac! It was worth it, mainly due to the hard work by the others incolved, and being able to help and report on it. For those interested, I've posted a much more detailed account of the Buffalo story by Daniel Leahy for the AHSA's online talk last week, as well as the forum YouTube recording on my blog, and links to the publications about it. All here: vintageaerowriter.wordpress.com/2020/05/24/buffalo-stories/
