Because I have the models...I thought I'd put together a bit of an Air NZ Tribute: Its quite surprising how the size of aircraft flown by our International carrier has changed since TEAL's first Trans-Tasman outing 1940 (and even since the 1970s)...Of course this also reflected in the numbers of travelling public and the expanding route networks. Yep, I’ve got a reasonable collection now, I’ve built models in 1/144 an few in 1/72 but Especially in 1/400 and 1/200 diecast with respect to Air New Zealand. I basically inherited every aircraft type that’s ever served through a late friends collection (minus the flying boats)

What I find amazing is size differences between the flying boats and the DC-8. Then when you look at the DC-8 compared to the triple 7, it makes you wonder just how 130 pax or so could ever afford to fly to USA. I guess that’s the thing, increase your pax capacity to make air travel affordable 😉

Excellent collection! Interesting to see the a/c grow in size over the decades. And technology too with the size of the engines.
