Sadly with the current economic downturn it seems New Zealand's only flying Catalina is in need of financial assistance. The New Zealand Catalina Preservation Society is supported by members and active volunteers who manage the ongoing support required to keep this rare and famous World War II flying boat as a unique Aviation Heritage project. Flown at Airshows and Commemorative Flypasts around NZ educating the public on the heroic aspects crewmen endured while operating in the Pacific Ocean for the RNZAF. One of NZ's most accessible warbirds - on static display, or local flights off land and water. Raised $30,000+ for The Child Cancer Foundation charity and introduced sick children to the wonder of flight.
