Hi all,
I am looking at writing a short peice on change management and would like to look at the post Air Combat FOrce disbandment and subsequent DJ2 process. I lived through the times as a young LAC but cannot recall many of the details other than a couple of "town halls" where senior officers, who clearly didn't agree with the message they were communicating to us, used words like redirection and transformation to describe the planned redundencies.
I had quite a few friends take the money and run, with some even being offered jobs back in the mob a couple of months later! I also recall the way that it was done, waiting in the Joe room until your name was called - marched through to the OC to get the yay or nay. All very industrial with little support for those who got the nay.
What other memories do people have of the process? I am not interested in re-re-re raising the issues of the requirement (or not) for an Air Combat Force - I have plenty of references and source material for this - I am just after people's memories and recollections - and will not attribute to anyone if they wish.

Specifically, what type of information are you after? I assume you are talking about Project Reshape. There are quite a few articles on this topic in a couple of RNZAF News that I have looked at briefly. So some guidance on subject matter would help narrow it down.

Those articles are exactly what I am after - the messaging that was given to those of us who were going to be affected. I was a CT so at uni and as it wasn't going to directly affect me, I didn't take too much notice of the articles and townhalls that were held, but would now like to know how this was conducted and what peoples "feelings" towards the communication was.
