Baz, Britain owned most of the Wirraways, they purchased at least 500 under the Empire Air Training Scheme, just like they owned our Harvards, Oxfords and Tiger Moths.

Or Crowded House is an Aussie band 😉. As much as Kiwis won't like it, Crowded House IS an Aussie band. Neil Finn even said so.... Fair point. We'll keep Sam Neill and the Lamington but you can have Russel Crowe back.

Baz, Britain owned most of the Wirraways So Britain paid the Australians to design and build the Wirraway? I suppose that took the pressure off North American to supply Harvards to Australia as well. Must have been a busy time for accounting departments during the war!

Folks, The "Wirraway" was that NAA design picked pre war and pre Empire Air Training Scheme (Dec 1939). Britain ordered a large number but the orders were not met. All shall be revealed in a forthcoming two volume publication due in my letterbox soon - I sincerely hope.
