Hello everyone, I've drawn some new decal art for RNZAF Catalinas and one is NZ4011. In the book "RNZAF The First Decade" on page 84 a photo seems to show (to my eye) this aircraft with a red dot in it's fuselage roundel. I'm comparing the roundel shades with the fin flash shades. To model NZ4011 the wing roundels are created by cutting of the bars from decals (1) and (6). Decal art, as a rough layout, is included with this post. Do people agree? All opinions and advice most welcome. Thanks in advance, Malcolm Laird, Ventura Publications

The colours look spot on to me. Great stuff, I have always liked that The Naughty Nine nose art.

I cannot answer your question Malcolm but wish to add to Dave's comment that these look great.
Are they 1/72?
Following with interest, I already have one of your sets in readiness to convert a Corgi diecast Catalina over to NZ markings & scheme...

I would guess that it would be unlikely that in 1944 the red centre dot would still be that colour. Probably a blue centre dot.

Yes that is a good point Damon, especially if it was in the forward area.

I'll be printing 1/72nd and 1/48th scale versions on this art. Cheers, Malcolm
