I would be very keen to know if the four P-40's that Mr. Edwards secured - NZ3028, NZ3032, NZ3093 and NZ3095 - were the ones that I have been told were taken to Timaru. Doug Drake of Timaru remembered seeing several P-40's at Timaru postwar. He told me the name of the factory that apparently acquired them, I do not have the name to hand right now but I have a feeling it was a cannery or something similar. He thinks they were broken up in Timaru. I have not found any record of any ending up there, but it is of course possible someone bought them from Edwards.

Also I note a photo in an edition of the Otago Daily Times, 4 October 1948, showing 6 Hudson aircraft parked at Taieri and apparently are being stripped by air force staff of usable items. NZ2016 is one, another coded "H", 5 are stripped of camouflage, with one still in camouflage. Here is that photo. Really cool to see.

Here's H being delivered to her purchaser's property in Dunedin where she was to be converted into a caravan but I don't have any subsequent info on the outcome.
