Being one of the WONZ sponsors (I am guessing by the banners) I thought it might be nice/appropriate to have a subject thread on their latest issue/s
Mostly I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading the latest issue (117)
I always look forward to my copy arriving in the post, but this one I really enjoyed and thought a 'shout out' to Graham, Dave and the team on a particularly splendid issue! Right from the positive thoughts on the Editors letter at the start to Pat Harrington selling Auster windscreens in the Classic Marketplace!
I wont say too much for those overseas who havent received their issue yet. But the highlights for me were the JS Collection and the accompanying photo's, the Russian Museum...that was really interesting. But also Andrew's experience flying the Fokker D.VII.
Well done team, keep up the great work!
Cheers Anthony

A bit surprised to hear some of you haven't received it yet, mine arrived in the mailbox on the 24th. Post is prity random these days it seems....maybe if NZ Post increased their charges things would improve...oh wait... If anyone hasn't received theirs by the end of next week let me know directly (offshore folks aside).
Anyway, thanks for the kind words Anthony. It was quite an experience being part of the John Smith adventure, you certainly knew you had done a days work when leaving the property, but the satisfaction was huge. Cramming the article into eleven pages was difficult, but hopefully everyone who reads it will get a 'feel' for the experience, and of course there will be quite a bit more to come in future editions.
cheers and thanks to everyone for their support during this shit-house year.
Happy New Year Dave CW

Can't wait for this issue, been a subscriber since the mag commenced, indirectly Classic Wings and this forum have played a big part in informing us all about the John Smith Collection. The end result couldn't have turned out any better than it has, can't wait to one day see these machines in the flesh!
Thank you to the mag, this forum and the others who are helping with bring the collection to places where we can all enjoy it.

Mine arrived this afternoon, still digesting the news pages - nice to see so much going on and IDs coming out of the woodwork.

Try being in Tasmania ☹. We're still using WW2 vintage courier pigeons. Seriously though, along with the Forum, it is a brilliant reference.

And to think the South Islanders want independence from NZ because they reckon they are getting the rough end of the deal when it comes to government services...

My copy has yet to arrive. Auckland post is really slow - the delivery truck is probably held up on the motorway.

I got mine on the 24th in Auckland. The best Christmas present one could get. I haven't seen it in the shops yet. It is a great edition.

Still no Classic Wings for Peter Noel here in Sydney............perhaps it is in COVID quarantine ? Just as well I’m not relying on AusPost for my delivery to my Coolalinga Post Box here in the Darwin rural area, as it’s a 2-3 mth delay or it May down to a 1-2 delay after Xmas now.. Plus I would rather support my local newsagent, they’ve been on a hiding to nothing atm and it gives me an excuse to take the kids (dogs) for a half hr drive on my Comsuper pension day.
