And probably more Tigers flying than Harvards anyway!
Although I know I'd love to see an RNZAF scheme on NZ3184 I'm just thankful another Kiwi P-40 has been returned to the air. Long may she fly, however she's painted.

There are more Tiger Moths flying in New Zealand with wartime service in their histories than Harvards. But does that mean all the Harvards have wartime histories? And there are more Tiger Moths than Harvards.......

Certainly every Harvard in New Zealand has a wartime history with the RNZAF.
There are about 53 Tiger Moths on the New Zealand register, and a load more that are under restoration to fly, and others stored or static in museums. Most of RNZAF wartime history, some have RAF and RAAF wartime history.
There are 17 Harvards on the register, and maybe less than that many again in museums or stored.

Sadly SGQ, USM and RNZ are all currently out of the air long term. ZK-OTU shall hopefully fly again very soon, within weeks. That will bring the airworthy population up to 14.
I think we saw 11 together in the air at Wanaka in 2018, or was it 12?

Pretty sure I was there for that...was that the 25th anniversary show? Just looking at the photo it's all ex-RNZAF (and one current NZ1015) Harvards. Was XSA there? Seem to recall a US T6G was in country but not sure it was at this show. Great photo!

Baz it was 2018, the last airshow that Wanaka ran, and the 30th Anniversary of Wanaka airshows. All eleven Harvards that were present flew together on the day.
Ando - It is a bit difficult to move the Harvard chatter to the Harvard Pile without it appearing out of context there. Perhaps we shall just say let's get back to the P-40 discussion?

Started a thread on airworthy, static and stored Harvards below, have added a little spice the ones in OZ as well and the none RNZAF ones that are in both countries. rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/17601/harvard-pile?page=50&scrollTo=313737
