...Mutilating an 1/72 Amodel DH Dove...Looks reasonably convincing, Khee Khaa Cesna bits are being used for engines and props & much scratch building to fill in missing bits . It's surprising how much Dove stuff is being re-used., I had to narrow the fuselage, particularly around the cockpit (Drover is only single pilot) The tail fuse was chopped, shortened and re-attached. Oh wow, Harry, this is brilliant. I've often thought of building a Drover kit (Qantas for me thanks, I believe with DH engines) but I never seriously looked at it. That looks so cool!

I am starting to think you must have bought the Khee Khaa Cessna factory. Drovers are hands down the ugliest monstrosity ever to wear the de Havilland name. And it looks even worse with Cessna engines. But still a cool project, well done.

Hahaha with the number of Cessnas I’ve been building (6 more on order ) you might think so Dave 😉. They have so many variations that each kit has lots of spare engines and props...Drover is ugly but charismatic...

Harrysone.......Agree with Dave. Seems to me that the entire design office staff each had their own idea incorporated and that's the result....unusual, quirky....lots of other descriptors as well. Love your work and maybe one day I shall be back to pick up those Mustangs

Good stuff Harry. i see you have gone for the Lycoming engine conversion version as per the one that James Aviation traded in and out at one time in the late 1980's.

Horror. I not sure whether to report your amazing surgery to De Havilland, Airfix or the Model Agricultural Aircraft Appreciation Society for their perseverance award.

some better imagery...sort of looking a bit like a Drover I had to just rebuild the port engine after port prop got misaligned and glued at wrong angle !!! Fortunately had another Cessna part in spares box Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_5362 by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Agreed Dave, its homely, however its a piece of history & there 'aint no kits available of it

The livery certainly improves the look. Great result.
So, is the Drover based originally on the Dove??
