I meant the engines 50% quieter than a Herc? You can have a conversation with the person next to your down the back. Also on ZK-CIB there is no overhead luggage lockers, so you also get the feeling your flying in a drainage culvert. Outside they even sound better when they are flying over.

About the same noise level as a SAAB Dave , I recon they sound more like an Orion from outside...that same whistle

SAAB? I never flew in one of them. Not even sure if I ever saw one tbh.

Well a Dash-8 100 or 200 if you’ve flown on one of those...guess you’d say average turboprop from 1960s-1980s

Seems like they are very noisy inside. Not so much noisy as "full of last-century character". I've done two very enjoyable trips on the Convairs (Auckland-Wanaka-Christchurch-Auckland for WoW airshow and Auckland-Woodbourne-Auckland for Omaka airshow). They roar, smoke, vibrate, and travel at high speed for a big-old turboprop. It's great! I will miss them. Good to see a few familiar faces onboard that last flight. Dee Bond gets around the aviation scene :-)
