A Merry Christmas to all from me too, and I definitely wish we all have a Happy New Year and 2022.
Thanks for that special tribute Ando. The forum is definitely a special place, and it keeps on giving every day to the thousands who read and join the chat here. It is the people who make it special, its a collective effort, not just me. But I am always happy to be here among friends, and happy to help people with questions and requests where I can. Long may it continue.

For me, it is especially sweet. You may know that I was involved in a major accident back in late February. This left me somewhat disabled, with a lumbar back fracture and a painful few months. I have worked hard on the recovery process, and was able to regain my aviation medical last week. After some currency flights at Ardmore this week, today I was able to fly solo once again. So that is my Christmas present to myself.

No doubt you will be in the circuit for Tauranga in the near future.

Stay safe. Nev Gosh Nev, I have been meaning to ask how your recovery has been going. This year has not been great for our WONZ Forum fraternity with several members having passed away this year, and Peter and yourself both suffering very awful and life changing accidents, not to mention all the other nonsense that has been befalling us from on high. I hope 2022 is better for everyone.

Sadly it has been a bit too hot here in the mighty Waikato. We had a lovely time indoors in the air conditioned house at my sister's place, but outside it was scorching. I saw the thermometer at once point reading 33.3C in the shade. It genuinely felt 5C higher when you walked out into the sunshine. There are now loads of thunderheads out there and the humidity is building so we may be in for a sticky, hot night. I hope the clouds come to a nice storm to break the tension but I have a feeling they won't.
