The Australian War Memorial will be conducting "Big Things in Store" on Saturday 5 March 2022. Big Things in Store The Treloar Technology Centre is the Australian War Memorial’s conservation facility and storage hub. Its doors are rarely opened to the public, but on Saturday 5 March the Memorial's open day, Big things in store, will allow visitors inside to uncover its secrets. Inside you'll discover a vast array of aircraft, rockets, vehicles, tanks, artillery, and equipment used by – or against – Australians in war for over a century. Big things in store is a unique opportunity for the whole family to experience one of the world’s greatest military collections. Bookings essential: www.awm.gov.au/visit/exhibitions/bigthingsinstoreFirst time it has been run for a couple of years due to "you know what" and first time since a lot of exhibits have been removed from the main AWM building to allow works to take place there for the AWM Building Expansion/Redevelopment Program. Also a number of new large items in their collecton since the last "Big Things in Store" including ex-RAAF P-3 and F/A-18 Classic Hornet. (Pity the date clashes with the first TAM Aircraft Showcase for this year.)
