See, Baz finally shows up here and the mystery is solved, just like we'd all expect.

Which one was it that was stored in a garage on the Kapiti Coast? There was a very comprehensive list of them all once, but I can't find it now

An appeal to Keith Morris resulted in these lovely photos from Dave Paull, who has kindly let me post them here: Christchurch 19-12-1973 Oamaru 24-06-1981

Great to see another one saved. The wings look in good shape although the camera can hide a myriad of sins!

Great to see another one saved. The wings look in good shape although the camera can hide a myriad of sins! The whole aircraft looks to be in good condition Baz. The wings had been recovered, but this will have to be done again. I will remove the paint and have a good look at the spars of course, but I'm optimistic.

That's awesome. It looks just like a model kitset to put together!

I was ten when Auster ZK BAE was ready for starting at Invercargill in late 1955, I was asked if I wanted to go with them as they needed a bit more weight for their test flight. I went out with the two crew and I was on cloud nine before I got in the back and strapped in. Where did that aircraft end up? I have found a few photos but very little history is available. Sorry to bust into your ATO thread.

I had my first rides in a light aircraft from Rongotai in Wellington Aero Club Auster ZK-ATP in 1956. Frank Wright was the instructor and a school mate and I were ballast for a "full load" check

Let me know if you need any bits as I have the odd spare part lying around. How's the engine? Presume it's a Gipsy Major 1?
