A group of us a trying to locate the crash site of Vickers Vildebeeste NZ104 which crashed a the gunnery range at Lake Ellesmere on 9 June 1939. The Court of Inquiry has a sketch map of the crash site, but no other details of the location. If anyone can provide a location (lat/long by preference), or any other assistance that would be much appreciated. The aircraft crashed just offshore, in the lake, in about 2 feet of water, so I doubt if there will be any remains, but it a good excuse to do an aerial recce!
