Thanks Errol. I never thought to check your books. Sad to see he died in the war.

It is amazing the information that is available if you are prepared to do the research and not wait for someone to do it for you. Another example of and aviation expert that is just a cut and paste expert.

I would hardly call my approx 20,000 hours of research that went into the compilation of my For Your Tomorow trilogy 'just a cut and paste' excercise. Errol

Reading through the record of service, this could well be the case, but can we be certain that he was not ordered to mount any operations at short notice whilst in Canada for instance (although if he was always located at RCAF HQ that would probably be highly unlikely), or even with the two OTUs in the UK? (Possibly more likely, perhaps one of the 1,000 bomber raids maybe (Millenium), but something is definitely wrong with one of the OTU "start" dates!) It is probable that IF the RNZAF staff at Wellington compiling the biography after the war had access to the logbook concerned, any such details would almost certainly have been hi-lighted in the final draft.
Whoops, missed Errol's small reply (above post).

Hmm, on rechecking the sequence of postings alluded to in previous post, cannot now find anything wrong with them (perhaps I just had a "brain explosion"?)
