My friend Peter Hallen messaged from Australia earlier today to say that Mustang VH-BOB returned to the air today after a restoration. That now makes nine airworthy Mustangs in Australia!

The airworthy Australian Mustang population is looking healthy again.
VH-BOB, first flight was flown by Peter Clements who also flies the RAAF 100 Sqdn Mustang VH-SUV out of RAAF Point Cook and had David Jones who looks after VH-SUV in attendance.
On the 23rd, VH-JUC A68-105 at Westernport/Tyabb had its first flight in two years after a major engine overhaul, main landing gear pivot pins replacement and other servicing work that was completed, Old Aeroplane Company Chief Engineer and pilot Bernd Heuser did the honours there, also with David Jones in attendance.
Hopefully see them both participating in local airshows again later this year.

Excellent news on both fronts, and well done to the Eastgate crew. It's been wonderful to see photos of her on Facebook.

So happy to have BOB back in the air. Now, if only we can get all of them together for a display

Have not seen anything indicative on their website at this stage on a proposed date. If they can get all the Oz based Mustangs together that will be a major drawcard.
