TV3 News last night featured a story on CTC at Hamilton and showed the same formation flying over the airport there. Looked like the Piper Senecas to me.

I didn't see that report sadly, thoguh I did watch most of 3 News at 6pm. Blast it all.
They flew over AGAIN this morning, much closer and a bit lower this time, and their formation flying is certainly improving. I hope next week they move onto formation loops and the mirror formation - I miss watching the Checkers every lunchtime, that was a great bonus about liviing at Wigram, every fine day was practice day and we baggies got a great airshow at almost every lunchtime through the summers.

hmmm, must find out what is going on - generally trainee airline pilots have no cause to practice formation flying. One occurence would suggest a photo session, but three? CTC train pilots for Easyjet, perhaps thier low budget version of the A380 will be three 737s flying in formation?

Just found this forum through a cheeky link on PPRuNe. Very nice! I am fairly certain CTC don't have theirs yet, but the first one should be in later in the year - watch this space.... The 1st of a few DA42s arrived the other week. Should be in the skies around NZHN very soon. Photos here... www.cadetpilot.com/index.php?page=da42hn

Thanks VS001. Welcome to the forum. That DA42 is a nice looking aircraft. Great site too, well done.
Cheers Dave
